Styles for Miles

Styles for Miles is an original mixed media collage by artist Josie Reyes, created in 2025 as part of her series Confidential.

The piece features the femme fatale from Confidential—a little worse for wear, a little strung out, and very blonde. She embodies a familiar story: fame in America and the complicated price of becoming a star. The higher they climb, the more exposed, isolated, and vulnerable they can become.

Through collage, layered imagery, and mixed media, Styles for Miles contemplates the relationship between celebrity, beauty, vulnerability, and American culture. The femme fatale becomes both muse and symbol, reflecting the allure of fame while questioning what happens when the spotlight becomes impossible to escape.

Part of the larger Confidential series, the work explores themes of American identity, cultural mythology, celebrity, conspiracy, and the stories we create around the people we put in the spotlight.
